The Salvation Army in Ulverstone has a wonderful team of volunteers at Salvo Connect, which supports people facing hardship and injustice. The support hub, located at 23 Victoria St, Ulverstone, features a shower and laundry for rough sleepers; food and financial assistance; No Interest Loan Scheme support; monthly Centrelink visits (face-to-face); computers for checking emails / printing resumes; warm winter clothing / tents / sleeping bags; and a place to sit and chat. Funding for the Hub comes from our local Thrift Shop (also run by a large volunteer team), the Red Shield Appeal, and local generous sponsors. Our volunteers make all this possible. Through offering their time at the Support Hub, they are making a real difference in the local community – and we are so grateful for them!
